Curiosity beyond the classroom
An honours degree in Physics gave Shibaji a way of thinking: take something complicated, break it into parts, and keep asking why until it makes sense. Computer Science was never on his syllabus, so he taught it to himself through independent study. That habit — deciding to learn something simply because it interested him — set the pattern for every chapter that followed.

Making complex ideas accessible
For more than sixteen years, Shibaji taught Computer Science subjects to BTech students. The work suited him: taking an idea that looks impenetrable on paper and finding the explanation that finally makes it land. Those years shaped the instinct that still runs through everything he makes today — meet people where they are, and make the difficult feel approachable.

Back to college, forward in life
At thirty-nine, with a teaching career already established, Shibaji went back to being a student. He enrolled for an MTech and completed the programme with a gold medal. It is the clearest illustration of the belief that runs through his whole story: there is no age at which it is too late to begin again.

Teaching beyond boundaries
The next classroom had no walls. Shibaji moved into online education, building courses that reached students far beyond the confines of any brick-and-mortar classroom, and they went on to become bestsellers on platforms including Udemy. The subject was still Computer Science — but now the only requirements to join his class were curiosity and a connection.

The world became his next story
Travel had always been the love running quietly alongside the teaching. At forty-seven, Shibaji picked up a camera and began filming his travels. Explorer Shibaji started as a way to share the places he visited and the people he met along the way. The teacher’s instinct came with him: not simply showing a destination, but explaining how to get there and what to expect when you arrive.

A community that keeps exploring
What began as one man with a camera is now a community of travel enthusiasts who plan trips, trade routes, and discover new places together. Beyond the channel, Shibaji has also served on two sub-committees under the Government of West Bengal’s Ministry of Tourism — Rural & Tea Tourism and WB Eco Tourism — offering input on the tourism potential of those sectors. The journey that began with a Physics degree is still very much underway.
